Music got me out of the psych ward, gave me a voice and honours my spirit. Every time I sing, I feel the wounds healing.
I write songs about what it's like to feel like to be always seem to be searching for the horizon. Sometimes the horizon is a joyful revelation, many times it's hidden by a thick fog and tough sea and other times it's not a horizon at all, but a push.
My favourite song? I have love in all of my songs. But I guess Angel Song is the one that always reminds me where I come from. It's one of the oldest, but every time I start those first notes on the guitar and close my eyes, I'm back there in the moment I first felt it. People ask what it's about; it's about finding the heart and spirit to hang on when there's no earth left to walk, no air left to breathe and no light to get your bearings. You're on the floor in your darkest moments, pleading with your angels to help out.
